The purpose of this assignment is to:
Explain the ways in which a magazine has been constructed
for a specific audience.
For my assignment i
choose match magazine

Codes and conventions
Firstly the front page isn't sentence structure this shows
that it’s not really for someone who wants to read more of a quick look
through, I’d
Front page
The Front page
outlines all the sectors that are stories and pictures within the magazine.
The central image
Someone on a football
pitch
The logo
Simple design the logo is made to stand out on the front
page over everything on this page the logo stands out the most.

Colour themes
Primary colours (more for children). The Theme of colour really sets up the target
audience for this magazine
Target audience
The specific target audience could be anyone interested in
football but because of the offers like 'free chewits with this magazine' i would say that the target audience is more
for people 5+.
Gender
The gender of this magazine i would think would be boys this
is because of how male orientated the articles and front page is.
Sexual orientation
Sexual orientation doesn't really apply with this magazine.
Standard Occupational
classification
The Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) is a common
classification of occupational information for the United Kingdom.
The price of this magazine is 1.99. For a child to buy is quite expensive, i'd
say that the classification for this magazine would be C1.
Mode of address
The mode of address for this magazine would be very informal
it’s more like a conversation you have between friend being wrote down then a
formal magazine, it uses slang word like ‘pics’ Etc.. this shows that the magazine has an informal
mode of address
Match magazines construction
for the specific audience.
Firstly the magazine is brightly coloured and uses primary
colour all the way through, the front page is orientated around football. This
shows that the audience is target mostly for males. The offer prizes which shows that the
magazine audience is more for a young generation but the offer on the
particular magazine I choose was for free chewits, as children’s sweets I decide
that this magazine is more for children around the ages.
